One adulting tip you would give to younger you: Put yourself out there over and over again. Ask the “stupid” questions that will lead to you learning quicker. Tell romantic partners exactly what you want. Try new things and go after what you want in life. Love fully and live fully and make mistakes and learn from them.
One adulting area you’re currently working on improving: Work/life balance. I find that a lot of my self-worth is based in my work accomplishments or productivity and I’m working to leave that mindset behind.
Your favourite thing about being an adult: Coffee. And having full control over the life you want to create.

One adulting tip you would give to younger you: HAVE FUN! Don’t stress or worry about the things you can’t control. At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to get through the day so have fun, go party, hang out with friends and travel.
One adulting area you’re currently working on improving: Staying calm and finding peace. The hustle culture in North America makes me extremely anxious about ‘not doing enough’ but at the end of the day, it’s just life.

Morgan Spencer (she/her)
Outreach & Sales Manager
Throughout her own journey of adulthood and post-secondary school, Morgan became increasingly passionate about equality, inclusivity, and education. Morgan identified the same gap in learning that Real Adulting did, and discovered the importance of continued learning and gaining true value from your education. Morgan’s excited to be part of a team dedicated to education, empowerment, and really, living your best life! In her free time, she can be found skiing, camping, or enjoying time with fam and friendz.
One adulting tip you would give to younger you: Limit the time you spend worrying! It’s normal to worry - about your future, your outfit, that thing you said, man why did I say that… But if I’ve learned anything, worrying won’t change it. Whether you believe it or not, thing’s have a funny way of working out. What may feel world-shattering right now, may be guiding you to something much better.
One adulting area you’re currently working on improving: Giving up control. I struggle with anything being done in a way that’s not my own, resulting in me usually taking on a really heavy (and unrealistic) workload. Learning to accept what I cannot change and giving up some of that control are both something I am continuously working on!
Your favourite thing about being an adult: Having the freedom to truly create the life you want! Travel, see the world, move away from your family, move into the house next to your mom, learn to play an instrument, quit your job you don’t like, sell your art instead, etc… While some people have the upper hand, making travelling or moving easier for them, the overall idea doesn’t change: it’s your life! You have the freedom to create it, change it, and live it fully.

One adulting tip you would give to younger you: It always works out. I was always that person who wanted to have my life figured out. But some things in life, you just can't plan. Being flexible, and always doing what’s best for YOU, is all you can do.
One adulting area you’re currently working on improving: My time management. As a full time student and business owner, managing school, life and work responsibilities can be tough! Making sure I prioritise, time block and take breaks has been key to staying on top of everything!
